Rivet Software Names Mike Rohan as CEO
Company Co-Founder Returns to Original Role
(12/13/2011)
Denver, Co - December 13, 2011 – Rivet Software, the leading provider of XBRL financial reporting and analytics solutions, has announced the return of company co- founder, Mike Rohan, as Chief Executive. Rohan’s return reflects the changing requirements of SEC filing companies as their needs shift from services-based XBRL training and implementation into more robust software solutions that provide more control over the entire closing and financial reporting process.
“We are looking forward to having Mike as the leader of the company again,” said Rivet’s co-founder Emily Huang. “Mike’s vision for Rivet to deliver powerful financial reporting solutions is now a reality as the market looks beyond SEC compliance to overall disclosure management, integrating and automating the financial reporting process, and utilizing the wealth of new interactive filing data for peer comparison and other internal and market-based financial analysis”
Patrick Quinlan has stepped down as CEO and will continue to support Rivet in an advisory capacity through the transition. Rohan has been serving as Chairman of the Board since Quinlan joined Rivet in 2009. Rivet has gone through tremendous growth over the past two years under Quinlan’s watch. Under his leadership, Rivet became the market leader in XBRL financial reporting, delivering financial reporting software and solutions to over 1,500 companies. Quinlan led Rivet to numerous prestigious industry awards and accolades including being named to the 2011 Inc 500 list, CIO magazine’s CIO 100, Red Herring North America, and was named CSIA’s Technology Company of the Year for 2011.
“I personally thank Patrick for his leadership in guiding Rivet through such phenomenal growth and for solidly positioning Rivet for future success” said Rohan. His strong background in sales and services enabled Rivet to grow dramatically and provide extensive transitional services to public companies as they were introduced to the XBRL standard. As the XBRL conversion phase winds down and services become less crucial, Rivet will focus more on its core competency--providing hosted financial reporting and analysis solutions for accountants and financial analysts.”
Mike Rohan was the founder of FRx Software, the financial reporting mainstay for most mid-sized corporations in the U.S. since the 1990s. FRx was purchased by the Microsoft Business Solutions Division in 2000. Before founding FRx, Rohan was a CPA with the Price Waterhouse consulting group in San Francisco where he assisted corporations with understanding and implementing automated financial and accounting systems.
