Rivet Software, founded by experienced veterans in financial and business solutions was formally announced today. The company, launched in mid-2003, is developing software that enables accounting and finance professionals to respond to the ever-increasing importance of corporate governance, transparency and compliance.
Rivet Software was created to address growing investor and regulatory demands for accountability that require new approaches, not patches to old systems and methods. Financial Integrity Management is an emerging approach to replacing traditional data warehouse-centric reporting and analysis with solutions created to place accountability, and integrity, into the hands of accounting and finance professionals.
"We formed this company because we believe that there is a gap between the financial software available today and what financial professionals really need, explained Michael Rohan, president of Rivet Software. "Most business applications were developed in the pre-Sarbanes Oxley environment. We are creating software from scratch that addresses the need for transparency and corporate governance."
Rivet's mission is to deliver Financial Integrity Management applications, providing finance and accounting professionals greater control and auditability of the business reporting supply chain.
"Our products will be affordable, easy-to-use and embrace industry standards, such as Microsoft .NET, XML (Extensible Markup Language), and XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language)," commented Rob Blake, VP of Product Management for Rivet Software. "All Rivet Software products adhere to the emerging XBRL global reporting standards and fully integrate with the most common business software on the desktop, Microsoft Word and Excel."
In order to deliver Financial Integrity Management applications, Rivet has formed an experienced global, senior team, including:
Michael Rohan, president of Rivet Software, the founder of FRx Software, which is now part of Microsoft Business Solutions.
Rob Blake, VP of Product Management a founding member of XBRL and previously led Microsoft's XBRL efforts.
Wayne Harding, CPA, Business Development, called the "godfather of XBRL" by an accounting trade journal and past member of the governing council of the American Institute of CPAs.
Rivet is launching first product, the Dragon TagTM XBRL enabler, next week at the XBRL International Conference in Brussels, November 15 - 19, 2004.
