XBRL Accountant (I)

Job Summary:

Rivet's products and services are designed specifically for accountants and finance professionals to transform the financial reporting and SEC filing processes. We are always on the lookout for talented new team members.

Our Compliance Services department is largely made up of accounting and finance professionals whose primary roles is managing and performing the function of preparing the SEC XBRL filing documents for clients who engage the Compliance Services Group to provide full service XBRL Services versus having their internal, or external accounting/finance staff generate XBRL documents for filing.

The XBRL Accountant (I) is responsible for the production and peer review of folios and the building of XBRL taxonomies with mentoring assistance. This position will be working closely with a team: Senior Financial Reporting Analyst, Financial Reporting Analyst, XBRL Accountants (including II and III) to deliver full service XBRL documents to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Production and/or peer review of XBRL documents
  • Review, build and apply XBRL knowledge in creating client taxonomies with mentoring assistance
  • Update workflow communication tool as needed to relay work status
  • Follow established department policies, procedures and best practices (i.e., Operations Manual, direction from XBRL Accountants II and III and Senior Financial Reporting Analyst)
  • Gain knowledge and establish understanding of Authoritative Guidances (i.e., SEC and Edgar Filing Manual reporting requirements and XBRL.US)
  • Meet established deadlines or timely communicate when deadlines are in jeopardy
  • Communicate Professionally and effectively through written correspondence to clients
  • Attends all quarterly trainings to continue professional development
  • Expected to proactively communicate escalations to senior team members
  • Participate in Compliance Service Department process improvement initiation
  • Work extended hours as required to meet business needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Accounting or finance degree required
  • Technically savvy
  • Ability to work extended hours
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strict attention to deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team based environment
  • Very detail oriented
  • Strong ability to multi-task, and use good judgment in setting priorities
  • Dedicated to delivering a quality work product

Training Provided:

One week of paid classroom training on our software and processes followed by on the job training.
