Description:
A Software Test Engineer will be part of our test team focused on a new Financial Reporting and Analysis application that involves robust server and client-side functionality. Working within an Agile development environment, this position involves creating test plans and test cases for new product requirements/features, using manual and automated testing to verify product functionality, monitoring performance and compliance-related results and helping clients through Beta and full/final product deployment.
Seeking a qualified candidate with any one, or all, of the following pre-qualifications:
- An expert level knowledge of an accounting or financial software product as well as advanced user level of Microsoft Office applications;
- Accounting knowledge as well as experience with automated testing, manual testing, developing test plans, writing test cases and defects;
- Accounting background and demonstrated abilities to grasp new technical concepts, computer terminology, and understanding of software technology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Software testing in Agile Software Development
- Functionality testing for personal productivity tools and enterprise-level financial application
- Develop and execute tests for acceptance, integration, installation and system testing
- Participate in Product Design sessions to ensure the test coverage adheres to the product design and meets the end user requirements
- Analyze system, features and functionality, and determine the best approach and techniques to test
- Document test coverage and create test plans and test cases
- Document test results, report software bugs and verify fixes to ensure the acceptance criteria set forth in the test plans is met
- Work closely with the development and program management teams throughout the entire product development life cycle to ensure the product meets user and quality requirements and is shipped on schedule
Required Skills & Education:
- Software testing and/or previous experience working with software implementations as a tester or a user
- Analytical skills
- Accounting degree or related work experience
- Solid understanding of Accounting concepts
- Proven ability to quickly grasp new technologies and software applications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Helpful Experience:
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Experience testing web-based and/or windows applications
- Experience testing .NET Applications
- Experience in a SaaS (Software as a Service) environment
- Experience with XBRL
- Familiarity with SharePoint and workflow concepts
Compensation:
- Salary Range: DOE
