Software Product Manager

Duties:

  • Define and describe requirements for features and functions to be incorporated into the application.
  • Analyze requirements, develop detailed functional specifications, review design documentation, and participate in design reviews.
  • Work with development team to turn requirements into reality through innovative software designs.
  • Analyze competitive product offerings in the marketplace.
  • Complete competitive analysis of feature/functionality benefit.
  • Conduct primary customer research and perform in depth customer reviews to understand their business challenges and system requirements.
  • Creatively look into the future to appropriately utilize new technologies becoming available.
  • Understand both US and international accounting/business reporting market direction and trends to assess future product needs and requirements.
  • Conduct and participate in trade shows, demonstrations/presentations, and other client- or partner-focused engagements.
  • Create product demos for all new features that can be used for internal and external training and communication.
  • Communicate and train the community via blogs, twitter, wikis, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in an Enterprise Analytics and/or Business Reporting role, or 5+ years in Product Management with focus on enterprise software.
  • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycles with direct experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum).
  • Thorough understanding of large-scale financial analysis and planning and multinational business requirements within the global marketplace.
  • Self-starter able to work both autonomously and as an effective part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven track record of building strong relationships and credibility with partners, customers, prospects and press/analysts.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize workloads and work under time constraints.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.

Competencies:

  • Large Client Experience with Big 4-type Accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with corporate compliance requirements (including Sarbanes-Oxley) International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and business standards such as Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL).
  • Technical expertise with full life-cycle implementations of Enterprise Business Applications, CRM or ERP systems.
  • Experience with data warehouses/design, OLAP, BI, SQL, XML and other related technology standards.
  • Exposure to Microsoft development technologies such as .NET and Team Foundation Server.
  • CPA with advanced degree such as MBA. (In lieu of CPA, Candidate must be able to demonstrate similar financial training & knowledge).
