Production Build Manager
Job Summary:
This is a hands on technical role involving software builds tied to development, code documentation, and unit test framework in a multi-tier web based application environment. Coordinates efforts with other departments to collect feedback and maintain current environment and source code. The build engineer will corral code, coordinate and push the code from development to test to production, and provide feedback for release reporting documentation. This position has a horizontal view of the project and the dependencies requiring changes to the given application.
Responsibilities
BA degree or relevant job experience is required specifically 5 years of progressively responsible experience deploying software. In-Depth knowledge of critical infrastructure components required along with source code control such as Visual Source Safe a strong plus.
- Software builds, hands-on support, troubleshooting, and process development
- Ensures releases are planned, developed, validated and finally implemented in the testing and production environments to meet customer needs in an extremely controlled and systematic process in order to limit impacts on the existing environment and personnel
- Responsible for software configuration management, deployment and support
- As necessary, lead the specification, development, test and deployment of tools to support SCM
- Augment processes and controls to support CM activities for software development, test and integration lifecycles
- Actively participate in cross-functional technical teams
- Produce and document code release process to production
- Institute a change management process for delivering and implementing code
