Rivet Delivers Production XBRL Viewer Engine to SEC

XBRL SEC Filing Mandate Supported by Rivet's Viewer and Solutions

(02/10/2009)

Denver, Colo. February 10, 2009-Rivet® Software has delivered to the SEC the XBRL rendering engine that will provide the ability for XBRL-based financial reports to be easily viewed on the SEC web site. This is the fourth XBRL-related solution that Rivet has delivered to the SEC.

"Rivet Software would like to congratulate the SEC for taking this historic leadership role in the drive to unlock the power of the financial information," says Michael Rohan, President of Rivet Software. "The decision sets in motion forces that will enhance transparency, comparability, and speed to analyze financial information for years to come, at a time when the global financial markets are demanding this type of clarity."

SEC Filers are faced with a challenge now that Interactive Data filings have been mandated by the SEC. With the proper software and education compliance with the mandate will be much easier. Rivet has already invested over 100,000 hours developing easy-to-use XBRL software and helping accounting and finance professionals create XBRL filings. Rivet provides solutions to help filers comply with the SEC's XBRL filing requirements:

-- Software: Rivet's Dragon Tag® XBRL Enabler, was recognized by the Journal of Accountancy as the most common tool used by participants in the SEC's XBRL Voluntary Filing Program. And Rivet recently released the CrossTag™ XBRL Creator. CrossTag is a web-based, collaborative tagging solution that shields preparers from the complexity of XBRL. It is an enterprise-grade application that minimizes the impact of XBRL on end-users; CrossTag's role-based approach provides separate functionality for template designers, document preparers, and reviewers (e.g. CFO, internal audit, external audit).

-- Services: Rivet has invested heavily in developing a world-class customer support team to assist SEC filers with Rivet's solutions and learning about XBRL. Rivet's professional services team provides support to help customers create XBRL templates and an extended taxonomy that can be re-used in subsequent filings. Rivet team members have extensive backgrounds in accounting and finance to better assist clients in report design, taxonomy extension and product usage.

-- Partnerships: Rivet relies extensively on partnerships to help deliver effective solutions to the financial community. Partners who include Rivet products as part of their solutions include AICPA, Bowne & Co., DG3, Marketwire, and PR Newswire/Vintage Filings.

Availability: Dragon Tag, CrossTag, and Dragon View are all generally available today directly from Rivet or through partners.
